jeremy lusk death video

It is a sad day in the motocross world. Freestyle motocross rider Jeremy Lusk was killed last night after he sustained head injuries during an X-Knights event in Costa Rica. He was performing a move known as the Seatgrab Indian Backflip when he lost control of his bike.

Lusk, 24, died as a result of head injuries her sustained during competition.

The Post Chronicle was the one of the first outlets to report the death of Jeremy Lusk yesterday morning.

Lusk, 24, was taken to Calderon Hospital ICU in San Jose where he died at 11:03 p.m. on February 9, surrounded by his parent, Chuck and Linda Lusk, his wife Lauren, and fellow Metal Mulisha riders Brian Deegan, Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele and Erik Apple.

Jorge Ramirez, chief of the intensive care unit at Calderon Hospital in San Jose, Costa Rica, said the motocross racer suffered severe brain damage and a possible spinal cord injury.

He was treated and required immediate surgery to treat a subdural hematoma on the brain. Surgery lasted 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, Jeremy passed away in his hospital bed late Monday night, reports Pete Thomas of the L.A. Times. He was reportedly surrounded by his mom and dad, Chuck and Gina Lusk; his wife Lauren, and mother- and father-in-law Lynne and Larry, along with fellow Metal Mulisha riders Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele, Brian Deegan and Erik Apple.

An announcement on a memorial service is pending.

Lusk had an impressive year in 2008, grabbing X Game gold in the FMX event and silver in Moto X best trick. He was also names FMX rider of the year, appearing on the cover of TransWorld Motocross magazine’s January 2009 issue.
