Inaugural Luncheon Menu

President Obama entered Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol building to trumpet fanfare. He gave a warm welcome to Congress and his campaign opponent, Senator John McCain, launching his administration.

A Catering company, Design Cuisine, served a special and delicous food for the inaugural luncheon at the U.S. Capitol. It looked to past President's favorite dishes for inspiration. The main dish was served on replica China from the Lincoln Presidency.

The menu for the luncheon the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies arranged to honor President Barack Obama ,Vice President Joe Biden and some 200 guest sare as follows:

First Course:

Seafood stew

Duckhorn Vineyards 2007 sauvignon blanc

Second Course:

A brace of American birds, pheasant and duck

Sour cherry chutney

Molasses sweet potatoes

Goldeneye 2005 pinot noir

Third Course:

Apple cinnamon sponge cake

Sweet cream glace

Korbel Natural "Special Inaugural Cuvee" sparkling wine
