Caroline Kennedy shocked everyone by withdrawing her name from contention as a possibility to replace Hillary Clinton as the junior Senator from New York. Now, rumors of a possible affair with New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger have come around.

Caroline Kennedy’s rumored affair was with New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger. Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr. (born Sept 22 1951) is the son of Arthur Ochs Sulzberger aka Punch Sulzberger. The son is sometimes called Arthur Pinch Sulzberger as a variation of his father’s nickname

Kennedy is reportedly known to be friends with Sulzberger, and rumors of an affair between the two started earlier this month.

Earlier this week, Kennedy notified Governor David Paterson that she no longer wanted to be considered for the vacant Senate seat in New York. Caroline cited "personal problems" and reports surfaced yesterday that the problems involved taxes and a housekeeper.

And when the publisher of your paper is BFF with a public figure, asking whether that friendship affects coverage of that public figure is certainly fair game.
